Submit your tenders:

Cromwell Polythene has been a proud supplier to local authorities for over four decades. We offer our extensive range of waste and recycling sacks in various capacities, thicknesses, colours, and strengths to support our customers’ different waste strategies. We understand that each council (currently) offers different kerbside waste collections and has different requirements. As such, we tailor our product offering to each individual local authority. This supply is often done on a tender basis, which we are open to receiving all year round. However, there are 2 times of the year in particular which are ever popular for developing bids – both the start of the financial year and the beginning of a new calendar year – as such, we are well prepared for any upcoming tender submissions.

Which bags can you provide to your residents?

Despite every council (at present) often offering different types of collections, Cromwell’s extensive range is sure to help with your collections – meaning we can supply a wide range of sacks for you to implement on your. Our most popular bags supplied to households are refuse sacks, wheelie liners and compostable bags. For your general waste or recycling, we recommend a refuse sack or wheelie liner (dependent on the size of your bins); typically, we would suggest a black waste sack for your general waste but a coloured natural for your recyclables. This helps residents easily define the best bin for their type of waste; we often opt for natural bags for recyclable waste, as any contaminates will be easily identifiable through the plastic bag. For food waste, we encourage you to use a compostable liner.

Coloured sacks are also popular, they can either match the colour of the bin they will be lining, or match the colour of the local authorities’ branding. The coloured bags can also be assigned a specific waste type, allowing for easier differentiation. Some councils have opted for bespoke printed bags, which contain recycling instructions, these can include, what can go in the bin, against what cannot be recycled, it can also have contact information for the council waste team, for enquiries.
