Reflecting on NERF & Scottish Resources Conference

As we finally begin to get our breath back after a busy few months at events exhibitions and conferences, we always like to take the time to reflect on the shows we have attended. Over the past few months, we have attended a number of industry-leading events, as both exhibitors and visitors, which are now beginning to wind down. Last week we headed North for two conferences, one held in Durham and the second in Perth.

The Scottish Resources Conference

The Scottish Resources Conference is run in partnership with CIWM, Zero Waste Scotland, and SEPA, and is the biggest event dedicated to Scotland’s sustainability, resource, and waste management sectors. Cromwell supplies many customers in Scottland and was keen to attend the event to catch up with our customers and learn more about the upcoming governing updates which are happening in Scottland.

Sales Director Henry Lee, headed to the Perth Concert Hall, where the exhibition was being held on Tuesday 15th November. We had a stand at the show, which attracted visitors and fellow exhibitors, provoking some great discussions. There was also the opportunity to attend some great talks discussing topics like The Circular Economy Bill and Energy from Waste, which helped us develop a better understanding of the new developments happening in Scotland.

North East Recycling Forum Conference

Later that week, Marketing Manager Josh and Account Manager Rebecca, attended the North East Recycling Forum (NERF) Conference in Durham. NERF holds many seminars throughout the year which we always enjoy attending, and as such, we made the decision to exhibit at their annual conference on November 17th.

Described as the ‘Waste and Recycling Event for the North East, the NERF exhibition consisted of exhibitors, presentations, workshops, and great networking opportunities for the waste sector. The event was a great place for us to showcase our work within the waste and recycling sectors, which we promoted on our stand. Like the Scottish Resources Conference earlier in the week, lots of great discussions were had at the event and the team saw firsthand some innovative new developments in the waste sector.

Whilst we now take a break from event seasons for a few weeks, we will take this time to follow up and get in touch with those we met at these events. We look forward to speaking with you all and thank you for making both events a huge success.
