Recycled Content & Recyclability
We are proud to say that we produce and supply polythene products with the highest recycled content possible, that are also recyclable and reusable. This not only helps to reduce the volume of virgin plastic consumed, it also helps by cutting carbon emissions during production and transportation. Choosing Cromwell saves valuable resources, reduces haulage costs, saves storage space, and lowers CO2 emissions from transport.
Exceptional performance at low microns
It’s not all about size and strength. Improved manufacturing formulations have enabled us to develop our bags using fewer resources whilst performing to the same high standards. In terms of plastic and polythene bags, their thickness is measured in microns, a unit of length equal to one millionth of a metre, the smaller the micron, the thinner the bag will be. Lighter bags use less plastic, resulting in a reduction in resources being used to manufacture, transport, and recycle the polythene material. We have sussesfully reengineered the product range to reduce product weight whilst maintaining product performance, resulting in 1065 tonnes of material saved from being transported to the UK in 2022. Alongside this project, pallet profiles were reviewed and amended to incorporate more cartons on a pallet because of the reduction in product weight. This has resulted in the same amount of product being delivered to customers on 579 fewer pallets in 2022.
