Over the years our product range has expanded, as waste collection requirements have grown. Despite the introduction of industry-specific bags like clinical waste and asbestos sacks, one waste liner remains the most sought-after. The 90-litre refuse sacks are still the most popular and are typically used for general waste and domestic recycling, and manufactured using minimal resources.
When is a 5kg CHSA sack required?
At Cromwell we are proud to be able to attribute a CHSA accreditation to many of our products, including our 90L refuse sack range. In 2007, we became one of the founding members of the CHSA Plastic Refuse Sack Standard accreditation scheme which now extends to most of our recycling and waste sacks. Having a ‘CHSA Accredited’ product gives the customers a guarantee they get what they pay for, ‘what’s on the box is in the box’, whilst the performance standard itself is reserved for sacks manufactured specifically to meet the CHSA performance test for the design weights from 5kg – 20kg.
It can often be tricky finding the best bag for the application and consumers may be using a bag which too heavy-duty for the requirements. This results in an unnecessary use of resources by using a potentially oversized and a much thicker bag than required, which can be a financially costly error but also brings its own environmentally negative impacts. When it comes to CHSA descriptions, they range in duty from light and medium to heavy and extra heavy duty. These increase in KG increments, with 5kg (Light Duty) being the lowest in weight capacity. At Cromwell the lightest CHSA sack we provide is our 90L 5kg CHSA Light Duty refuse sacks in both black and natural colours. These bags have the codes BK090G0 and NA090G0 sacks can be an innovative way to save resources and maximises budgets, with a lighter capacity bag.
These bags are ideal for the capture and containment of light-weight waste, up to a capacity of 5KG, this can include soft plastics, flexible polythene, light cardboard, light fabrics/clothing and soft toys and furnishings. 5KG is the equivalent of approx 11 pounds of waste, so any rubbish or recycling equaling this weight will be well-secured in our BK/NA090G0’s.
The Specifications:
Our two 90L 5kg CHSA Refuse Sacks are very similar to one another, except for the colouring and packaging, see below the 2 differences, by adding these sacks to the portfolio and implementing them in areas where waste is predominantly light, teams can reduce the amount of material used in their waste management operations.
