For our team, the Cleaning Show is a must-attend event within our industry every year, with the 2024 exhibition being held in the heart of Manchester. We have been proud exhibitors since the event’s debut at Manchester Central many years ago, and also attend their well-established London event. This year, our sales and marketing team were at the centre of the action on stand B10, where we showcased our waste and recycling sack range, which included some old favourites, as well as some new innovations for both us as a company and the industry. Here is our overview of the two day show.
This year the Cleaning Show was held at the Manchester Central Exhibition Center on March 13th and 14th, and what an amazing turnout it was! Switching between their London venue and Manchester each year, typically it is the Capital’s show that gets the biggest draw, due to location. This year Manchester certainly gave its sister show a run for its money. Our sales team arrived at the show on Wednesday morning eager to meet and network with the visitors and fellow exhibitors alike. It was great to see an influx of people to the stand, leading to some great conversations being held about our product range but in particular many visitors were drawn in by our two new product innovations.
We had an eye-catching display on our stand which presented an example of our new poly-packed packaging solution, a cresource-efficient alternative to cardboard boxes which we currently use to contain our BK090C1P products. Alongside these new poly-packed products, we had our current cardboard packaging, this allowed for an instant visual comparison of the size and weight savings, with all other savings including carbon emissions all detailed on an information sheet. The poly-packed solution proved to be a huge talking point on our stand and seems to be a hit with visitors, who are taking many steps themselves to become more sustainable, many existing customers asked for a trial with their next order.
Alongside the new polythene packaging innovation, the other show-stopper at our stand was our Glovelee – Compostable Gloves. These compostable gloves are a brand new range to our catalogue, yet despite being only recently launched, they have already won an industry-leading award. On March 7th, at the FPA Awards, we collected the ‘Product Innovation – Back of House’ award for the new Glovelee range. The award-winning gloves provoked some great conversation on the stand, touching on the topic of compostable material and food waste, as well as the glove’s usage within the industry and where they are best suited. With lots of samples being taken from our stand, the potential is there for these gloves to become a key asset to the industry. Between Gloevelee and our poly-packed products, the exhibition saw us reach a record number of visitors to our stand, and some great enquiries were made, resulting in the show being a huge success for our team.
