Stocking up for the Festive Season

The Christmas advert battle for ‘best in show’ has begun, the supermarket isles are filled with festive treats and Christmas movies have hit our screens, meaning the Christmas countdown is officially on! Although we are still in November and have 6 weeks until the big day, there is no better time to start your Christmas and New Year preparations than now! Plans for festive shutdowns, end-of-year parties and out-of-offices are always high on the agenda, but we would like to add one more thing to the list, and that is a year-end stock check.

In the hustle and bustle of the Christmas countdown, stock checks are easy to overlook, however this can leave you at risk of being left short of your goods over the festive period and into the new year. Whilst usually a last minute order isn’t an issue, companies and logistic firms often shut down or alter their hours, which will in turn effects the timeliness of your deliveries. How do you avoid this disappointment? Order well in advance of the festive shutdowns, this is particularly important for companies that continue to run throughout Christmas and New Year, including the retail, hospitality and healthcare sectors.

We are here to keep you well supplied with your sacks, liners and packaging material. Studies show that waste is heightened during December and into January, as we indulge in the seasonal festivities, in particular, this includes increases in food waste, paper and card and general waste as a whole. As well as businesses, Local Authorities also see a rise in waste and recycling levels over the Christmas period, as packaging and paper from gifts, and the aftermaths of Christmas indulgents fill their resident’s bins. This waste will be inevitable, so being prepared for it is key to good waste management – this is done by forward planning and ensuring a sufficient level of waste sacks in stock.

For hospitality December is one of the busiest times of the year, with Christmas parties galore – this always results in a rise in food waste. As such we encourage replenishing your compostable liner stock, to help keep any organic waste securely captured and contained. Paper and card from packaging and wrapping paper waste explodes as the gift of giving during Christmas takes place, so ensure your stock of refuse sacks and compactors is up to scratch. Leaving these until the last minute could mean that deliveries are interrupted by Christmas shutdowns, leaving you with a lack of bin bags, and an abundance of waste!

Don’t let your waste pile up this Christmas, be prepared with Cromwell and carry out your festive stock replenishment today! We are on hand to get you well equip for the festive season.
