Now celebrating its 8th year, Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘GB Spring Clean’ is back and bigger than ever for 2023. Each year, the campaign grows as more individuals, companies, and groups decide to join the nationwide litter pick. The clean-up campaign is run for over 2 weeks, this year from 17 March to 2 April. During this time, people are encouraged to hit the streets, collect litter and discarded waste. Since its launch in 2015, the GB Spring Clean has become the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign, now also having a separate campaign aligned with it, The Great Big School Clean.
This year Keep Britain Tidy will be focusing on the pride people have for their local community when carrying out these litter picks, these volunteers are dubbed as ‘Litter Heroes’. Taking pride in your local area is something the GB Spring Clean is always keen to promote, and is one of the main reasons why people sign up for the cause, to help clean up the area they call home or work. We at Cromwell annually take part in the spring clean, but the litter picking is not our only contribution towards GB Spring Clean activities.
