At Cromwell, some topics in the workplace are easy to approach, such as recycling rates, which bag is best, and industry news and updates. Mental health has historically been one of the quieter conversations and that is exactly why organisations like Andy’s Man Club exist.
Recently, Cromwell welcomed Joe, a representative from Andy’s Man Club for a Lunch and Learn session with our team. It was an open, honest and thought-provoking discussion that highlighted both the challenges many men face and the importance of creating spaces where people feel able to talk.

Who Are Andy’s Man Club?
Andy’s Man Club is a UK charity dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding men’s mental health. Founded in Yorkshire, just like Cromwell, the charity is very close to our team’s hearts and has helped thousands of men through their mental health crises. The organisation provides free, peer-to-peer support groups where men can talk openly about their struggles in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
Their message is simple but powerful: “It is okay to talk.”
Across the country, Andy’s Man Club hosts weekly Monday meetings where men can share their experiences, listen to others and find support from people who understand what they may be going through.
The charity was founded in memory of Andrew Roberts, who tragically took his own life. Since then, the organisation has grown rapidly and now supports thousands of men every week.
Our team had the amazing opportunity to hear about Andy’s Man Club and its history, first-hand from one of their representatives, who themselves have suffered with their mental health and reached out to Andys Man Club for support. Joe shared his story and Andy’s tale during one of Cromwell’s lunch-and-learn sessions, reinforcing to the team that it is okay to talk about these.
Why This Matters in Cromwell’s Workplace
Mental health does not stop at the office door. It travels with us. Whether someone works in manufacturing, logistics, sales or management, everyone faces pressures both inside and outside of work.
At Cromwell, we believe supporting the well-being of our team is just as important as delivering reliable products and services to our customers. A strong organisation is built on strong relationships and a culture where people look out for each other.
Hosting the Lunch and Learn session gave our team an opportunity to learn more about men’s mental health, understand the work Andy’s Man Club is doing, and explore how simple conversations can make a real difference.
A Partnership That Makes Sense
Andy’s Man Club is Cromwell’s chosen charity this year, and we are incredibly proud to support the work they do.
Their focus on openness, community and practical support aligns closely with our own values of relationships, reliability and resourcefulness.
Supporting mental health is not a single event or a one off initiative. It is an ongoing commitment to building a culture where people feel valued, supported and able to speak up when they need help. We ourselves take a great focus and interest in the mental health of our staff, we host wellness days and events, have a team of Mental Health First Aiders and regularly encourage honest and open chats amongst our team. We take pride in the fact that we offer them the support and resources to help get them back on the right track – the lunch and learn with Andy’s Man Club just strengthened these initiatives.
