With less than 2 weeks left of 2024, there seems no better time than to look forward to the year ahead. 2025 will be our 42nd year in business, and throughout these 4 decades, we have been known for our innovations and continual improvements to our ranges, and of course, this year will be no different. Here’s what we have coming in 2025:
Piping Bags
Our brand-new disposable piping bags, which will debut at the beginning of 2025, are the latest addition to our food service bow. This year, with great success, we have introduced our brand new range of Compostable Gloves under the brand name ‘Glovelee’. These new gloves quickly became a hit in the food service and catering sector, winning The Product Innovation Back of House award at the 2024 FPA Awards. Our new piping bags fit as a neat extension into the food service and preparation world. Our blue tint piping bags, are made from polythene, they offer a recyclable alternative to the traditional cotton or nylon piping bags commonly used in catering. This addition not only meets the needs of the industry but also reflects our commitment to resource efficiency and innovation – their blue colour also allows them to be easily identified in food if such mishaps occur.
The new piping bags are made from 40% recycled material, are exempt from the plastic packaging tax, and beyond their recycled content, are fully recyclable after use, offering a true closed-loop solution. This allows the new product to be not only an impressive one for the industry but also for the environment. We have manufactured these gloves with the paramount importance in health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation that the food service sector inhabits; meeting these standards ensures the piping bags are food-safe, ensuring they meet the necessary criteria for safe and hygienic use in the industry.

PolyPath
In 2025, we are continuing the development of waste-tracking technology, PolyPath. PolyPath was first announced with the aim of enabling organisations to trace captured waste or packaged goods using a unique QR and sequential code.
With PolyPath, users will have the ability to log every interaction with their materials, mapping the full journey and paving the way to insightful data. Our PolyPath QR code tracking is designed to enhance our customers’ existing operations. Providing the means to follow the path taken by materials in greater detail will allow users to follow the entire journey of your waste from disposal through to repurposing or recycling. We predict that the legislation on tracking waste is set to change and hopefully advance in 2025, and as such, we are preparing to follow suit with improvements to our PolyPath range – keep an eye out for updates in over the next 12 months.
New Compostable Designs
For well over two decades, Cromwell has been a proud supplier of compostable liners, which have become increasingly popular among residents who have to collect organic waste such as food or garden trimmings. Over this time, we have continually improved this popular range, introducing new sizing to fit a variety of bins and then including a re-order ribbon for easier repeat ordering by residents. As we enter a new year, our compostable liners have seen improvements again, with a fresh new look. We have re-designed our compostable liners in line with the BBIA’s recently launched rapid identification system for compostable bags. The updated liners still carry all the essential certifications, including the 7P number, EN 13432 code, and compostable logo, but now present these details in a much clearer, more concise format with an eye-catching hexagon print. The new design clearly showcases the visibility of the certification and visibly reinforces its certifications to combat the issue of ‘false claims’ in the market.
Award-Winning Shows
We will launch some of these new products at the many industry-leading events we exhibit during the year, the first of which is the London Cleaning Show. Held on March 18th – 20th at London’s ExCeL, we are really excited to have a presence at the industry-expert show once again. The Cleaning Show is the UK’s Largest event for professionals in cleaning and hygiene, and Cromwell will be right in the centre of it all on stand A31. Here, you will see samples of our waste capture and containment products, including the new developments we have discussed in this blog. Come along by and see the team, grab a sample and have a chat.
Wishing you all the success in 2025
This year has been momentous for the Cromwell team, and we hope it has been as successful for yourselves. We would just like to take a moment to thank you all for your support this year, and as we look forward to the new year, we wish you every success.
