Flexible Film Collection Bags showcased at Local Authority Events

Building strong relationships with local authorities and waste management professionals remains a key priority for the Cromwell team. It helps us showcase products like Flexible Film Collection Bags, understand our customers better, and enhances our knowledge of the industry. June’s events included the LARAC Scotland Conference and the CIWM & LARAC Midlands Conference. Our team enjoyed speaking to delegates about the future of household recycling collections, particularly the upcoming introduction of flexible plastics collections from March 2027. A key talking point throughout both conferences was our brand-new Flexible Film Collection bags, designed to support local authorities as they prepare for these significant changes to kerbside recycling services.

LARAC Scotland Conference: Strengthening Relationships North of the Border

This year’s LARAC Scotland Conference saw Marketing Manager Josh Wood joined by our new Regional Development Manager for Scotland and the North of England, Richard Clow. As one of Richard’s first major industry events in his new role, the conference provided an excellent opportunity for him to get stuck in, meet the people he will be working alongside, and begin building relationships with local authority representatives and waste management professionals from across Scotland.

Throughout the day, Josh and Richard welcomed visitors to the Cromwell stand, where discussions centred around our Flexible Film Collection bags and how they can help support councils as they prepare for the rollout of flexible plastics collections in 2027.

Alongside the networking opportunities, the conference programme offered a variety of informative seminars and presentations, providing valuable insight into the evolving Scottish waste and recycling landscape. As a long-standing supporter of the event, Cromwell Polythene continues to value the opportunity to engage directly with local authorities and industry partners in Scotland each year.

CIWM & LARAC Midlands Conference: Engaging with Industry Peers and Local Authorities

A few hundred miles down the road, representing Cromwell Polythene at the CIWM & LARAC Midlands Conference was Regional Development Manager Darren Kitchiner. A familiar face within the sector and a proud affiliated CIWM member, Darren enjoyed reconnecting with existing contacts while also meeting new delegates from local authorities and waste management organisations across the Midlands region.

The conference provided another excellent platform to showcase Cromwell’s latest solutions and discuss the preparations many councils are already making ahead of the introduction of flexible film collections. Visitors to our exhibition stand were keen to learn more about our new Flex Collect bags and how they can support the efficient and effective collection of flexible plastic packaging from households.

As always, the event combined valuable networking opportunities with a strong seminar programme covering key industry topics, helping delegates stay informed about the latest developments shaping the future of resource management and recycling. As an annual fixture in our events calendar, the CIWM & LARAC Midlands Conference continues to be an important opportunity for Cromwell Polythene to strengthen relationships, share expertise and support local authorities as they prepare for the next phase of recycling reforms.
