September is here, which means it is time for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning! Are you and your customers taking part?
The Macmillan Coffee Morning has been bringing people together since 1990 and has grown into the charity’s biggest fundraising event. In 2024 alone, more than 52,000 people hosted a Coffee Morning, raising more than £17.1 million for Macmillan Cancer Support.
At Cromwell, this cause is particularly close to our hearts. We have taken part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning ourselves for more than a decade, bringing colleagues together over a brew, cake and some seriously competitive baking.
But anyone who has helped organise a catering fundraiser knows there is a lot more involved than putting the kettle on and slicing the cake.
Over £200 raised for Macmillan!
On Monday 28th September, the Cromwell team put their baking skills to the test, all in aid of a fantastic cause! With a mouthwatering selection of sweet and savoury treats on offer, our Macmillan Coffee Morning was the perfect excuse to indulge in a little something delicious while raising vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
It might not have been the healthiest start to the week, but it was certainly one of the tastiest! Colleagues went above and beyond, bringing in an impressive selection of homemade bakes and tasty treats to support the fundraiser. From cakes and cookies to scones and sausage rolls, there was something to tempt everyone.
The Great Cromwell Bake Off Returns!

Of course, no Cromwell Coffee Morning would be complete without a little friendly competition! Our annual Bake Off returned for another year, with nine delicious homemade creations competing for the coveted title of Cromwell Star Baker 2026.
With so many tempting entries, choosing a favourite was no piece of cake! Colleagues were tasked with sampling the bakes and casting their votes for the one that impressed them most. A tough job, admittedly, but someone had to do it!
After plenty of tasting and some serious deliberation, it was Marketing Coordinator Rosie who took the crown with her delicious Blueberry and Lime Cake, earning her the title of Cromwell Star Baker 2026!
A huge congratulations to Rosie and a big thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and got baking.
More Than Just Cake!
Alongside the impressive homemade creations, colleagues also contributed a tempting selection of shop bought goodies, ensuring there was no shortage of treats to enjoy.
But the morning wasn’t all about satisfying our sweet tooth! We also organised a selection of games and quizzes, giving colleagues the chance to test their knowledge, enjoy some friendly rivalry and potentially walk away with a fantastic prize, all in exchange for a small donation.
The event was a brilliant opportunity to bring the team together, catch up over a cuppa and enjoy a little healthy competition. Although, judging by the amount of cake on offer, the competition was probably the healthiest part of the morning!
A Sweet Success for a Fantastic Cause
After a day filled with delicious food, laughter and plenty of generosity, we’re delighted to announce that our Macmillan Coffee Morning raised an incredible £208 for Macmillan Cancer Support!
With Gift Aid, this brings our fundraising total to a fantastic £260, helping to support the important work Macmillan does for people living with cancer.
Events like these are about so much more than cakes and competitions. They’re a wonderful reminder of what can be achieved when colleagues come together, share a few laughs and support a cause that makes a real difference.
A massive thank you to everyone who baked, donated, participated and helped make the event such a success.
Well done, Team Cromwell! You’ve certainly proved that a little cake can go a long way!
