Cromwell Polythene, will spring into 2019 in stunning new office space

Cromwell Polythene, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of sacks, bags and specialty products for the storage and collection of waste and recyclables, is set to move into a new office workspace during spring 2019, following a period of significant development.

Cromwell New BuildingThe family-run business will be moving into a bespoke facility purchased a new office from property development company, Glentrool Estates Group, at its pioneering Sherburn2 75-acre business park at Sherburn-in-Elmet, near Leeds. A 50,000sqft distribution warehouse, featuring smart wrap-around offices, will cater for the firm’s predicted growth, whilst creating a contemporary and welcoming business hub for Cromwell’s customers, suppliers and staff.

Cromwell Polythene Managing Director, James Lee, said: “Our business is thriving, thanks to our commitment to reliably and consistently supplying high-quality products with the lowest environmental impact. We have exciting plans to grow extensively over the next few years and this move is a sound investment for us.

“The Sherburn2 development near to our current office is perfect for us, allowing us to remain in a superb business and logistics location while creating new premises to suit our needs. We currently employ 33 people. Our move will double our warehouse capacity, enabling us to create many more new jobs and to continue expanding our operations. In the short to medium term we hope this will create another 7 jobs.  Once we’ve fully grown into the site we believe we could support somewhere in the region of 50 employees.”

Jeremy Nolan, a director of Glentrool, commented: “Securing our first customer at Sherburn2 is really significant and is a clear vote of confidence for our development. Our design team has guided Cromwell through the procurement process to provide them precisely with the building they need, on commercial terms which work for both of us.

“Cromwell’s high-quality facility will be at the gateway to Sherburn2 and will be a great showcase for both Glentrool and Cromwell. The first phase of infrastructure is complete and we are planning to start construction of this flagship building this October with completion in the spring of 2019,” said Mr Nolan.
