2020 has certainly been a whirlwind of a year, the safety measures of lock down which were put in place to protect the world against the Coronavirus has heavily effected all industries, including ours. It also meant that many events and exhibitions were either cancelled or postponed. This included Keep Britain Tidy’s annual GB Spring Clean.
We are very keen supporters of Keep Britain Tidy and the events which it carries out, we have been involved in their GB Spring Clean for several years now. This event is a nationwide campaign against litter, where volunteers organise and take part in their own litter picks, to help keep our planet beautiful and litter free. Each year a team of volunteers from Cromwell dust off our litter pickers and tackle the waste in our local area. We have 2 teams ready to take part again this year, now in the later, rearranged dates in September.
On Friday the 11th September, we will be scouring the area around our newly built premises picking up debris and waste that has been littered. Two teams will be cleaning up the area, one in the morning, the other in the afternoon, and all litter will be recorded and levels analysed afterwards. Extra safety measures have been considered, all equipment will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised, we will provide masks and gloves for those who would like to wear them, we also will insist all staff wear high vis jackets and still stick to social distancing rules throughout the pick.
Fully equipped and safety measures all put in place, we are ready and looking forward to taking part in the GB Spring Clean, eager to support Keep Britain Tidy once again.
