Recycling
Fundamental to the sound environmental principles that drive the company is a 'closed loop' strategy that has seen
continued growth in the volume of post-industrial and post-consumer plastics, board and other materials that we
return to the production cycle through Cromwell Recycling’s own recovery programmes.
Much of the polythene that we recycle, for example, is used in the manufacture of our own black refuse sacks.
Cromwell Recycling works in close partnership with its suppliers to identify, segregate and bale the recyclable
element of their waste, thereby conforming with environmental and legislative requirements, while also
providing them with a valuable income stream and saving money on unnecessary waste disposal.
Products we recycle:
Polythenes
- Pallet wrap | Garment covers | Sacks and bags | Agricultural film
- Polythene film and carrier bags (provided they are free from food contamination)
- Big bags, sometimes known as 'dumpy’ bags
- Redundant film on the roll, including multi-layered, metallised and printed films
Hard plastics
Pallets | Food trays | Buckets and tubs, including most recognised polymer types.
Polystyrene (PS 06)
In many forms, including seed trays, CD cases and EPS briquettes.
Card
Corrugated and single wall, plain or printed.
Specialized waste streams
We service a number of specialist sectors, including the agricultural sector, for example,
where the waste stream includes agricultural film, spray cans, string and bulk sacks
Secure destruction certificates
We can provide secure destruction certificates/evidence for most materials we collect.
Our clients, many of whom enjoy long-term relationships with Cromwell Recycling, range from SMEs to large multi-nationals,
covering industries as diverse as agriculture, food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and retail. A significant percentage
of our tonnage comes from the waste management sector, to which we are also a major supplier of bags and sacks.
We work closely with suppliers to identify recoverable elements from their waste stream and can provide independent
advice on suitable machinery, including balers.
We operate a nation-wide collection service, where possible using our own fleet on a return-load basis as we deliver
finished goods. Through our resource recovery arm we are also able to collect smaller loads from SMEs within a 75 mile
radius of our dedicated recycling facility near Leeds, where material is sorted and graded for re-processing.

resource recovery section.
